Olympic sensation Michael Phelps has recently received a very attractive offer to participate in the upcoming Asian Poker Tournament (APT) scheduled to take place at the Galaxy Star World Hotel and Casino Resort in Macau. The lucrative competition offers Asia's largest ever first place prize of U.S. $500,000.
Jeff Mann, the APT spokesperson, reportedly promised to cover all Phelps' traveling expenses if the human dolphin agreed to come and occupy a seat at the poker competition. He also offered him one-on-one tutorials with the poker industry's most accomplished poker players.
Among those who have already confirmed their participation in the U.S. $5300 main event are highly prominent poker professionals, such as Doyle Brunson, David Saab, J.C. Tran and Nam Le. The competition will be launched on August 27th and wrap up on August 31st. It is not yet clear whether or not Phelps would accept Mann's invitation.
