Double-Crossing Poker Dealer Involved in Assassination Plot

According to a recent report, a 45-year-old U.S. woman was found guilty of plotting to assassinate her prosperous husband and his two sons with the help of a hired hitman. Sharon Collins, the criminal, claimed to be a woman trapped in a miserable relationship with a wealthy businessman named PJ Howard. Her solution to the problem was eliminating him with the help of Egyptian poker dealer Essam Eid.

Eid, however, had plans of his own. The poker dealer contacted one of Howard's sons and told him that there had been a contract out on him, his brother and their father and demanded to be paid €100,000 to have theD murder contract terminated. Following this turn of events, Howard turned to the authorities for protection.

Collins was apprehended in 2007. It turned out that one of her personal computers contained her correspondence with Eid, whom she thought to be a professional assassin. In one of the e-mails she admitted that although she was sorry for Howard's sons, she believed that, if they were spared, they would have made her life a nightmare after their father's death. Collins and the double-crossing poker dealer will be sentenced in October.
